Martyna Janczak: Clinical Psychologist and EMDR Therapist (AHPRA: PSY0001527724, EMDRAA member)

Trained in CBT, EMDR, ACT and Mindfulness.

Hello, I'm Martyna.

I'm a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience working in across hospital, government, Defence, organisational, and private practice settings. Over that time, I've had the privilege of working with people from many walks of life — including members of the general community and current and former Australian Defence Force members and veterans.

People often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted, or unsure where to start. My role is to offer a safe, respectful, and collaborative space where you can slow things down, make sense of what's been happening, and work toward change at a pace that feels right for you.

I take a person-centred approach, meaning therapy is shaped together — not done to you. I place a strong emphasis on warmth, compassion, and emotional safety, so that you feel seen, heard, and understood as we work together. Whether you're navigating trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, workplace pressures, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, my aim is to support you in a way that feels practical, grounded, and meaningful.

I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches — including CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR, and mindfulness-based therapies — and adapt these to suit your needs, preferences, and goals. I have completed EMDR training and have been incorporating this approach into my practice for over 12 years. Therapy may focus on helping you regulate emotions, improve sleep, strengthen relationships, manage stress, or reconnect with a sense of stability and purpose.

I have a particular interest in trauma-related difficulties, attachment patterns, adjustment and identity transitions, and the effects of prolonged stress and high-demand roles. I understand that reaching out takes courage, and I work to ensure therapy feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

If you're considering therapy, you're welcome to reach out when you're ready. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you don't have to carry things alone.
